Steeped in a diverse blend of artistic influences, Vancouver Island-based creative & musician Joshua Holloway is working to become one of the most refreshing new voices in pop & jazz.

Throughout elementary and high school, he spent most of his afternoons crafting song lyrics and plunking out melodies at the piano. Then in 2018, he went on to study Jazz Theory and Performance at Vancouver Island University where he earned his Diploma of Music.

Following VIU, he teamed up with fellow musicians and pals, Tasha Adams and Elysia Biro to form the Joshua Holloway Jazz Trio. The group gained notable fame and popularity, selling out the Malaspina Theatre with a one-night-only crystalline performance of their original musical, "Home" in December of 2018.

Shortly after (2019) he was accepted to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where he underwent rigorous training in voice, acting, and dance — and worked with some of his most inspiring musical role-models to this day.

 

With his unique vocal warmth and clarity, Joshua has since then garnered acclaim in jazz communities for his renditions of American Songbook classics — and as of late, he has curated a wide collection of original works in a nostalgic, retro-pop style, culminating in his debut album, "WONDER".

 

Today, Joshua joyfully resides in Nanaimo, British Columbia where he's honoured to make sweet sounds with dear friends and fellow musicians as he begins a new creative chapter.
